the patient was noticed to be in bed in respiratory arrest; Acute aortic dissection; Sudden onset due to hypertension; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Physician) from Regulatory Authority.
Regulatory number: v2210003763.
An 80-year-old female patient received BNT162b2, BNT162b2 omi ba.
4-5 (COMIRNATY RTU FOR BA.
4-5), on 18Jan2023 at 12:30 as dose 5 (booster), single (Lot number: GJ2674, Expiration Date: 31Jan2024) at the age of 80 years for covid-19 immunisation.
The patient's relevant medical history included: "Hypertension" (unspecified if ongoing).
The patient's concomitant medications were not reported.
Vaccination history included: Covid-19 vaccine (1st single dose, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 immunisation; Covid-19 vaccine (2nd single dose, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 immunisation; Covid-19 vaccine (3rd single dose, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 immunisation; Covid-19 vaccine (4th single dose, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 immunisation.
The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: Body temperature: (18Jan2023) 36.
1 Centigrade, notes: before vaccination.
Clinical course: On 18Jan2023 (the day of vaccination), the patient had no complain of abnormality during the follow-up time after vaccination and returned home.
According to the family member, there was no abnormality even thereafter.
On 20Jan2023, around 23:00, The patient experienced Acute aortic dissection.
On 20Jan2023 around 23:15, however, the patient was noticed to be in bed in respiratory arrest and was emergently transported.
On 21Jan2023, the outcome was Fatal.
The reporting physician classified the event as serious (Fatal) and assessed that the causality between the event and BNT162B2 as unassessable.
Other possible cause of the event such as any other diseases was sudden onset due to hypertension.
Reporter Comment: It was an unexpected sudden occurrence, and the relationship with the vaccination is thought to be poor.
