Diarrhoea; Maternal exposure during pregnancy; Brown discharge from the vagina - I am 29 weeks; Flu like symptoms; This case was received via regulatory authority (Reference number: 25740183) on 04-Aug-2021 and was forwarded to Moderna on 04-Aug-2021.
This regulatory authority prospective pregnancy case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of DIARRHOEA (Diarrhoea), VAGINAL DISCHARGE (Brown discharge from the vagina - I am 29 weeks) and INFLUENZA LIKE ILLNESS (Flu like symptoms) in a 33-year-old female patient (gravida 1) who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna CoviD-19 Vaccine) for COVID-19 vaccination.
The occurrence of additional non-serious events is detailed below.
Concurrent medical conditions included Pregnant (29 Weeks).
Concomitant products included ASPIRIN [ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID], FERROUS FUMARATE, METFORMIN, MYO-INOSITOL, COLECALCIFEROL (VITAMIN D [COLECALCIFEROL]) and OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS for an unknown indication.
On 26-Jul-2021, the patient received second dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna CoviD-19 Vaccine) (unknown route) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form.
On an unknown date, the patient received first dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna CoviD-19 Vaccine) (unknown route) 1 dosage form.
Last menstrual period and estimated date of delivery were not provided.
On 27-Jul-2021, the patient experienced INFLUENZA LIKE ILLNESS (Flu like symptoms) (seriousness criterion medically significant).
On 29-Jul-2021, the patient experienced VAGINAL DISCHARGE (Brown discharge from the vagina - I am 29 weeks) (seriousness criterion medically significant).
On an unknown date, the patient experienced DIARRHOEA (Diarrhoea) (seriousness criterion medically significant) and MATERNAL EXPOSURE DURING PREGNANCY (Maternal exposure during pregnancy).
On 28-Jul-2021, INFLUENZA LIKE ILLNESS (Flu like symptoms) had resolved.
On 30-Jul-2021, VAGINAL DISCHARGE (Brown discharge from the vagina - I am 29 weeks) had resolved.
At the time of the report, DIARRHOEA (Diarrhoea) outcome was unknown and MATERNAL EXPOSURE DURING PREGNANCY (Maternal exposure during pregnancy) had resolved.
Concomitant medication use information was provided by reporter that includes Nutritional supplement Methylfolate.
The patient had some brown discharge lasted a day called antenatal , patient was not having a pain and baby was still active.
This is a case of product exposure during pregnancy with associated AEs of INFLUENZA LIKE ILLNESS, VAGINAL DISCHARGE and DIARRHOEA for this 33-year-old female.
Based on the current available information and temporal association between the use of the product and the start date of the events, a causal relationship cannot be excluded.
Events' seriousness was provided by RA.
